People after the apocalypse. Life after the apocalypse

well, as for cars, everything is somewhat exaggerated
in arid climates and even buried under sand, they can survive for quite a long time. I actually observed a very interesting picture of how abandoned equipment gradually falls into the ground and the wheels clearly deteriorate faster than everything else. the tire simply turns into a deflated solid mass, but the body, since it is painted, rusts slowly and suffers more from the local primates.
Another question is what to refuel and what to repair. however, diesel is quite unpretentious and diesel fuel can be repaired without a complicated process. so there will be cars, but there will be very few of them and it will be very elite.
then, as if the climate from a nuclear war will not change the natural zones either. in 100 Central America there will be clear forests and banana grass like in cruz. but from the ruins of large cities that will be hit, almost nothing will remain. there will be a concrete mess with mounds of moss and black soil. Also, a nuclear strike is planned on major cities, the rest of the land will be quite suitable for a house in the village. This all means that most likely people will leave lands that are poorly suited from a climatic point of view. There will remain small working settlements for the extraction of some kind of garbage and primitive infrastructure ala the wild west.
the social structure will also suffer little for the reason that already in the first months of the sracha camps will be organized, there will be dispossession of kulaks and all that. Historically, this will simply lead to a decrease in labor efficiency. the efficiency of the land harvest and a clear bias in agriculture, livestock breeding, etc. Those are a rollback almost to the 19th century. But the military ones, they will be like cowboys, nanoposons, they will be like, they will make sure that the raiders don’t steal the food.
you come to such a settlement, in short, the slaves spud up the potatoes with Samsung galoxy and the cockerels jump out from under your feet like that. strange couple post apocalypse if everything is according to science.
but with firearms there will be a bidah. unless, of course, they start mass production of musket-off cartridge barrels. Gopnik raiders will even drive with spears and slingshots.
It’s quite difficult to say specifically about mutations and degenerations. this depends on the level of specific radiation contamination of the area, and here abandoned nuclear power plants of which in the United States seem to create a lot of problems more than what once exploded there and has long been under a layer of earth. as a consequence of long-term, leisurely exposure to radiation, this is primarily a lot of down-and-out oligophrenics. because in short the effect on all sorts of thyroid hormones and this, in turn, is all sorts of hormones food influence on sexual function. Even genetically healthy children will behave very badly. By the way, husbands will be very sexually active and angry. women, on the contrary, will be so sluggish, pliable, rickety-built, many will have problems with reproductive function. so fairy tales about savages with painted faces who eat human eggs, hang gays on telegraph poles - all this has a well-founded physiological scientific nature. So let’s say there will be doubling of organs due to viruses from radiation and other embryogenesis, they will also happen. The second problem for humans will be microbes and viruses. and such and such an invisible killer will be worse than radiation. If we assume that people will not live very densely, there will be many slow-moving epidemics of all kinds. under these conditions, natural selection will really accelerate and improve in 130 years, or 5-6 generations.
and then there are aliens with artifacts. In general, a scientific mess is planned, no slouch.

They have been saying for a very long time that our planet will soon end. Starting from the predictions of the Mayan civilization and the prophecies of Nostradamus, to the vague visions of modern magicians, fortune-tellers and astrologers.

But, fortunately, people have time to prepare for life after the great cataclysm. After all, most of the predictions did not come true, and many fateful dates were left behind.

You will still pay taxes (if you are rich)

The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is serious about continuing to collect taxes, even after nuclear attacks. According to the department's guidelines, they will resume toll collection within 30 days of the attack. Fortunately, such a decision will only be made regarding people who will produce greater returns.

People will start using carrier pigeons

If society collapses, power collapses, lawlessness begins after the end of the world, then people are unlikely to have a chance to use email, telephone or social networks to communicate. But this does not frighten the Chinese authorities, because they oblige the People's Liberation Army to train pigeons to transmit messages between military and political targets.

Wrestling will become a popular entertainment

Over the past few decades, WWE (Worldwide Wrestling) has produced over 125,000 wrestling match adaptations. This material is a story that will help future generations learn what Halkomania is. To ensure this legacy, half of the entire gold collection was placed in bunkers that would withstand multiple nuclear strikes. They are located in the Catskill Mountains in the USA.

Bacteria will start storing data

All current methods of storing important data will be useless if the apocalypse occurs. Knowing this, scientists began to study the genomes of bacteria. As it turned out, their DNA can store a large amount of data and pass it on to inheritance. For example, if a certain code is introduced into the E. coli gene, then all the information will be preserved even after several generations.

People won't be able to find fuel

Ethanol-based fuels, such as gasoline, have a specific shelf life. Ethanol is a hygroscopic chemical that will attract and absorb water over time. But even if you add a tablespoon of water to this fuel, it will be irrevocably spoiled. Even if ethanol is stored in an airtight container, its life can only be extended by six months.

People will drink beer and other drinks

In 1955, the US government decided to test the effects of a nuclear explosion on "commercially packaged beverages." They essentially dropped an atomic bomb on beer and soda cans and bottles. As a result, the containers remained intact and the drinks were of acceptable quality. Perhaps after the apocalypse, a can of Coke can save your life.

We'll have to use the giant World Seed Vault

In the farthest depths of the Arctic archipelago lies the World Seed Vault. It was built by the Norwegian government for just $9 million. Thanks to the cold and mountainous location, as well as an automated security system and a bomb scanner, humanity will be able to restore agriculture. The World Seed Vault contains more than 770,000 different seed samples. Thanks to them, life after the apocalypse can be restored.

Food mealworms will be 3D printed

Until the seeds in storage mature, people need to find alternative ways to feed themselves. Some scientists are exploring the possibility of creating food components using a 3D printer using basic materials such as algae, insects and worms.

A satellite pulled to the earth will tell people what year it is.

Lageos-1 is a well-known satellite that helps study the geodynamics of the Earth. It records information about the movements of tectonic plates and acts as a reflector for laser beams transmitted by the planet.

Hornsleth deep sea disposal project

Artist Christian von Hornsle plans to create a sculpture and lower it to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. The installation will be in the shape of a whimsical star, which is filled with samples of human blood and hair taken from more than 5,000 people from around the world. Besides being a work of art, Christian von Hornsle's goal is simple: to keep the human genome safe.

The surface of the sculpture will be covered with stainless steel, which will prevent rust and corrosion while the sculpture is on the ocean floor.

These were the best films about post-apocalypse, epidemic and the end of the world. Survival and life after the apocalypse is the theme of these top films. If you know any other movie disasters in the same genre, then add to our list of the best. We are especially interested in paintings from 2016 – 2017.

On the occasion of the release of new episodes of the sixth season of The Walking Dead (episode 14 - March 24), we decided to remember in which worlds humanity had to live in after the Apocalypse. Perhaps, in this way, the masters of Hollywood want to tell the audience: learn to survive, make fires and bake bread?

Through the snow

In this visionary masterpiece, the world is frozen. Covered entirely in snow and ice, the continent of Eurasia is cut by a railway along which a train carrying the surviving people runs endlessly. In the first carriages are the elite, and in the last carriage are the poor and powerless “scum”, from whom mysterious overseers take away their children. An amazing metaphor for modern life, the thriller Snowpiercer was a revelation for many.

the walking Dead

Yes, yes, this is your favorite world. The zombie apocalypse is a win-win option for the series: there are plenty of enemies to chew on, constant travel, there are more than enough deserted places in the world, and the make-up is funny. Plus your favorite heroes who don't want to die. And Karl, Karl!

Monsters

This world has not survived the alien invasion. The giant aliens, whom almost all armed forces were sent to destroy, have effortlessly dealt with the threat and are spreading like an infection across the Earth. We see that the director has nature’s revenge in mind, that one day he will answer people for their desecration: he shot the desolation landscapes so beautifully.

Terminator

The cult sci-fi action movie shows a dark possible future: the rise of machines, the eternal war of survivors with the most dangerous and - most importantly - ruthless enemy, robots! A tenacious idea will soon give us a fifth version of the development of events, but that film, the very first one, will forever remain a classic: sad and honest.

I'm a legend

Vampires. Usually they are portrayed in films as languid, pale pretty girls, but not in this case. An unknown infection that turns people into hungry creatures spared a man and a dog who wandered for days in empty New York. Stylish, armor-piercing and brutal. In the book on which the horror film is based, the main character dies. But Will Smith just can't die!

Child of man

Many who could watch this film would say that this is the world they live in: it looks like a “hot spot”. War of all with all. A world without children tends to devour itself, and who will stop it? Cuaron, director Gravity”, likes to ask uncomfortable questions: do any of us need such a future? Then why do we strive for it so much?

Elysium: Heaven is not on Earth

This film embodies the fears of all the elites who have been living and existing for thousands of years: that one day all the rabble and rags will rise up and take away everything that has been acquired by back-breaking labor. Sometimes the mob actually rose up and destroyed civilizations. On the other hand, you don’t have to go far: the problem of refugees in the world is acute, but it is not being solved as radically as in the thriller “Elysium.”

The power of fire

Probably one of the most interesting worlds: the ruins of London, captured by dragons! The main roles are knights Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey (the second is generally unrealistically brutal: jumping from a tower with an ax on a dragon - this is not like sucking cockerels on a stick!). Yes, the world is also dirty and poor, but there is some kind of rebellious spirit in it.

12 monkeys

This world has been destroyed by viruses. All the people who remained went underground. The best scientists understand that they can correct their present by changing something in the past, and so prisoner James Cole goes back in time to find out who opened Pandora's Box. Perhaps the most creepy, passionate and unconventional science fiction detective in the history of cinema.

Mad Max: Fury Road

One of the best films of last year gave us joy with its drive and beauty. But the Earth that appeared before the viewer is completely unfriendly: disease, hunger, desert, thirst, mutations and class inequality. It is incredibly difficult to survive in such a fairy tale, well, not everyone succeeded.

Oblivion

The earth is empty. The last surviving observers serving the robots will soon leave Earth. But, as they say, not everything is what it seems. Gray, oppressive and sad dream film by Joseph Kosinski (“ Tron: Legacy") cleverly deceives the viewer and makes a wild loop in the finale. Tom Cruise has proven again that he always chooses the best projects for himself.

America-3000

If you value 80s trash productions, America 3000 is not to be missed. Somewhat similar to the Soviet-era hit “New Amazons,” this comedy (it’s better not to perceive it any other way) will give you everything: female combat units, nudity, irony and the most disgusting outfits in the world. According to the plot, after a nuclear war, a primitive system and matriarchy were established in the world. Ai-nane-nane!

The world, having survived a global catastrophe, has made a decision: to rid people of emotions. Only emotions make him angry, express dissatisfaction, kill, rob. Beautiful and ruthless, graceful and aesthetic dystopia, Equilibrium was a brilliant successor to The Matrix, but beat it in terms of staging fights. It's unforgettable!

WALL E

We decided to leave the kawaii apocalypse for last. No one died, people just messed up the planet so much that they flew into space, leaving little robots to sort out heaps of garbage.

I quote: " How to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. What you need to know, who to be friends with, and who to be wary of." Let's reveal it...

The very first problem that a person will face when he sees cities that have formed like a house of cards, with burning factories and oil storage facilities, is the shock of losing everything that has been accumulated over previous years. The thought that everything has changed within minutes, that the old world has fallen and will never return, will hang over everyone like the sword of Damocles. Not everyone can bear it. Crazy people will appear, sometimes harmless, sometimes annoying, sometimes very dangerous. The destroyed stores will already be looted en masse.

With a catastrophe, life will freeze, but will not stop. Basically, the most pleasant thing in life is itself. We will have to build a new life, in some ways similar and in some ways different from the modern one.

In a year, isolated and otherwise, loners and groups of survivors will begin to unite. Around the surviving villages, around tent cities. They will start building houses, uprooting forests, and plowing up the land. Those. transitions to a new way of life. Strictly speaking, three significant breaks can be traced, behavior during which will affect the entire subsequent life. The first is the moment of the disaster itself, the second is the first year after it, the third is “settling on the ground” (organizing a community).

The first thing that will need to be done is to survive the disaster. Survive the first days and hours. The level of population losses during an earthquake of 12 points will be 85...95% for cities, especially large ones, depending on the time of day. This means that cities and surrounding areas will be empty. But life in the countryside, although it will change a lot, there will be much fewer dead. It is very important to get out of the city at the first sign of it. There will be quite a lot of smart, quick-witted and foreboding people. If you don't have a car, don't go out on major highways, it will arouse suspicion.

It is better to go along the railways; there is always a road along the line and a forest protection belt. Or simply through the outskirts, which are not equipped with a road. Then we’ll run into the police, with their approach - we’ll detain you, and then we’ll figure it out, there’s less chance. A person who leaves the city in troubled times with a backpack on his back, and even more so in casual clothes, always arouses suspicion. Cyclists are much less suspicious. If possible, just take any commuter bus going approximately in the desired direction. Waiting for yours is like death. Blocking a city is a difficult task, but it can be done. Even by the police, without involving the army. Be sure to warn family and friends before communication lines are destroyed. You'll have to find a place where you can sit out the worst hours. When hurricanes and earthquakes rage. Over time, the weather will calm down, the earth will stop shaking, well, not in the vicinity of awakened volcanoes, of course. State power will not disappear overnight. Measures will be taken to evacuate the population from disaster zones. Tent camps and field hospitals will be organized. Upon alarm, the remnants of the army and navy will be mobilized. It will be very important to survive the first year, with its cataclysms, constant frenzy of weather and atmosphere. With constant frightening news.

It’s probably worth dividing the property for a nomadic life and for a sedentary one, but you just have to remember that everything that concerns a nomadic life necessarily applies to a sedentary one.

It is necessary to make a small digression. It is very likely that you will have to leave the city in great haste at the first sign of disaster. Literally in a suit and shoes. Or in overalls and welding boots. Or it’s not yet known what, in your work clothes. Having matches and cigarettes in his pockets, a completely useless wallet, a cell phone and keys to an apartment from a past life. Having a path to leaving the city, not far from the border, arrange a hiding place, which will contain things that are vital on the initial part of the journey, and which will later be useful, for example, for a nomadic life. A plastic canister with a very wide neck can be used as a container.

Parking

When choosing a parking place, you need to follow a few simple rules. Never stop in a valley, a depression between two hills. It's always damp and dark there. The majority of ticks, snakes (in the Urals, including vipers), mosquitoes and all kinds of blood-sucking, poisonous and infectious reptiles live there. The best place for camp is a southern, not steep slope. So that there is a stream nearby. It’s too close to bodies of water, rivers and lakes, it’s damp, and it will be very cold at night. Avoid birch forests. They are very unhealthy. Although birch is the best firewood. Choose a place for the toilet lower and slightly away from the nearest stream. The army standard for the distance from a living space to a toilet type toilet is 25 meters. Follow it relentlessly. Get rid of the risk of contracting a huge range of diseases and unpleasant odors. Setting up a camp, even a very simple one, takes about 2…3 hours in any case. If you are moving purposefully from point A to point B, then there is no point in setting up a long-term camp. It is quite enough to pick up sticks for the fire on the go and draw water from the stream. Lighting a fire and setting up a tent takes half an hour. Plus cooking, dinner, evening dressing and bedtime. The algorithm of actions is as follows: collect sticks for the fire on the go, light a fire and put water to boil, put up a tent, add food for cooking, collect firewood for the morning, prepare the tent for the night (spread foam, sleeping bag, pack a backpack), eat food, take a smoking room chopsticks, toilet, sleep. The most important food is dinner. There is no point in having a heavy breakfast and lunch. It will be difficult to walk, and simply harmful.

Sixty percent of the heat that a person loses through clothing comes from the collar. You will be comfortable and warm in a sweater with a high collar. If you don't have one, use a scarf. As a last resort, you can tie a towel. Never sleep in shoes, even if it is very cold outside. Tightly tied shoelaces impede blood flow and cause your feet to freeze even more. By morning, if your legs aren’t swollen, they won’t rest and you won’t have the strength to walk much. Be sure to unfasten your belt, fly and top buttons of your shirt at night - you will have better rest. Remember that in the cold it is much more dangerous to sweat than to freeze. Sweat freezes on the underwear, in which case pneumonia is guaranteed. If you do get sweaty, take off all your clothes, including your underwear. Let it freeze, which will happen quickly, and then slightly warm it up and dry it next to the flame of a fire, this is called freeze-drying. If there is no fire, then just blow it out. A thick knitted sweater can be turned inside out at night. Then some of the sweat that has accumulated during the day will disappear from it. And the next day will be a little better. If it is cold, very cold outside, and you are spending the night alone, then you can heat a stone on the fire, or warm some water and pour it into a bottle or flask, wrap it in a towel, rag, and sleep with it in your arms. Gloves are comfortable, mittens are warm. Therefore, apply the matryoshka principle. It is worth wearing thin gloves under thick and clumsy mittens, and during some delicate work, such as shooting, it will be much more convenient to take off the mittens.

This is what army mittens are called, mittens. Make a loop on the mittens, sew a button to the cuff, then the mittens will not get lost. Or do as you did as a child, just tie an elastic band to your mittens. When moving, every three to four days it is worth stopping for a day. Take a break, patch up clothes and equipment, do laundry, replenish supplies.

Animals, as a rule, are afraid of the sight and smell of fire and the smell of gun oil. Wolves hunt in packs and, for example, in the month of March they have the rut, they walk in packs around the female and are extremely aggressive. The sight of a double-barreled shotgun taken off the shoulder does not frighten them. Although it forces you to keep your distance. A bear, in a well-fed state, is a rather good-natured animal. This does not apply to mother bears with cubs, and especially to connecting rods. Those. bears waking up in winter. Shatun is a hungry, extremely aggressive and dangerous creature. When you meet him, shoot to kill immediately! The bear is able to catch up with a horse while galloping and is an excellent tree climber. The lynx is solitary and, compared to a bear, a small predator. He hunts at night, for small game, but is not afraid to go after roe deer. He has an amazing skill of moving through trees without leaving marks on the ground. At the same time, it moves almost silently, like all cats. As a rule, it does not attack a person, but if winter turns out to be too hungry... It attacks by jumping onto its back from behind. The chances of surviving such a battle are practically zero. A sign that there is a lynx in the forest is the stripped bark of trees at a level just below the chest. Breeds kittens in burrows and dens. As you will see, the best thing you can do is your legs. And the sooner the better. Somewhere nearby there is a mother walking around, extremely dangerous in her anger. In general, avoid contact with cubs. Even a badger attacks in such a situation. Moose. Not predators, herbivores. But a graceful and swift ton of sheer weight can work as well as a bulldozer. It will trample to death very quickly. Never hunt elk in the open. My father gave up hunting after missing a running animal twice in a row. He turned around and attacked him. A man with a carbine from the other side of the clearing helped. Boars. You can escape from it on a tree. Fortunately, they, like moose, do not know how to climb trees; if they argue in their own way, they will leave. Perhaps the most dangerous predator in our forests is the wolverine. This is a self-confident, extremely persistent and cunning animal. Will pursue long and persistently. Foxes bite very painfully, leaving long-lasting wounds, and suffer from rabies. Never pick up a wild hare, even a wounded or stunned one. Just finish him off with a stick or knife. The hare, despite its small stature, has very strong hind legs and is capable of tearing its belly with its claws. When “communicating” with any predators, keep in mind that each one has long and extremely sharp claws on only one paw of the heel. At best, you will have a knife, and only one. Never walk along animal trails, you will definitely meet its owner. In summer, never set up camp near raspberry fields and other thickets of bushes with berries. The owner of the taiga will visit there as a dining room.

With a completely nomadic life, it makes sense to organize several visited “camps”, to which you can return from time to time. This will save a lot of time in the future. And it’s hard to spend the winter in a tent. It’s easier to build a dugout in a place far from populated areas and spend the winter in it. A good quality log house will take a lot of time and effort. In such a situation, you will have to live mainly by hunting, and, having exhausted or scared away the game in one place, you can safely move to another. Never disdain pasture. Wild sorrel and garlic are excellent seasonings. Mushrooms add great variety to your menu. Never eat unfamiliar mushrooms and berries!!! There will be no one to pump it out in the forest. Only people with a special mental organization can live alone for a long time. Robinson, for example. It’s much easier, I emphasize, it’s much easier to travel with at least two people.

Orientation

There are two types of terrain in which navigation is very difficult. These are steppes, in which there are no landmarks, and mountains, or rather foothills, in which there are too many landmarks. It is very difficult to navigate on a map without large objects, such as lakes, rivers, high rocky peaks, power lines, villages, etc. A two-page map is well suited for orientation in rough terrain. With a scale of 1 cm - 2 km. It shows all the most noticeable landmarks in sufficient detail. Please note that cards in the USSR are classified as third-class secret.

Accordingly, they are declassified only in the event of the outbreak of war. Military units, closed cities and strategic sites are not included on the maps of civilian publications. Including roads. The most detailed maps are military ones. With today's level of secrecy (open striptease of one's secrets), fairly detailed plans of the area can be purchased or found on the Internet. Ask in tourist and hunting stores. The most detailed electronic maps with topographic reference using the GPS system, and according to the recently launched Glonas-M, will be absolutely useless.

Accordingly, all instruments for orientation are based on satellites that will remain in their orbits and will not turn after the poles. Look for noticeable landmarks on the maps - lakes, rivers, river bends, large ravines, villages, power lines, railway tracks, federal highways. It is more reliable to learn them from memory (landmarks). The compass will be absolutely useless at first. But when the new poles are established, it will be enough to draw a new north-south line on the map along the new landmarks, and then it will be much easier to navigate.

It’s not worth even dreaming about a prosperous old age; no one will pay pensions in those years, and nursing homes will die out as a class. So, to ensure basic survival in retirement age, it is worth joining a large community as early as possible.

A few words about the forest for residents of megacities

The first thing you notice is the silence pressing on your ears, which keeps you in constant tension. After a while you begin to listen and distinguish a huge number of sounds. Right down to whether there are bushes behind the hill or not. How a hedgehog runs in the grass. How a dragonfly rustles its wings. Personally, for me, after a day or a day and a half, it clears up through a chronic runny nose, a delicate sense of smell. There is no smog in the forest air from tens and hundreds of thousands of cars, from factories and factories, from power plants. Almost everyone experiences a slight and very pleasant dizziness, I would even say euphoria. At the same time, you constantly want to sleep, but it is very easy to fight sleep. We jokingly call this “oxygen poisoning.” It just becomes much easier for your lungs to breathe. After a week, smokers, and not only smokers, begin to cough up mucus from their lungs. Don't be afraid, it will pass quickly and almost painlessly. Quitting smoking during a long hike through the forest is easy. In our situation, constipation will occur from stress and exertion, be sure to keep a laxative in your medicine cabinet. When constipation passes, the situation due to the new food and regimen will turn one hundred and eighty degrees. Do not worry. This is also temporary. After a while, all the chronic ailments that everyone has will come out. I apologize for the cynicism, it is not the strongest and healthiest who will survive, but those who were able to pull themselves together and will not sink to the level of an animal. Living in extreme conditions will return pressure to its place, calm the weakened immune system, and restore metabolism. Those who are overweight will lose weight, those who are too thin will gain muscle. Do you know who the healthiest people in the world are? Homeless people. Homeless people do not get sick with anything, with the possible exception of head lice. Take good care of yourself. Be sure to observe personal hygiene measures. Firstly, hygiene is always good, and secondly: following rituals, such as washing, brushing teeth, shaving, styling your hair, will help maintain your sanity. It will become a bridge between the old and new worlds. It’s not for nothing that they say: when you wash your face, you are born again. And a shaved face and neat hairstyle will greatly invigorate you and put you in a good mood for the whole day. After some time, everything will calm down, and the body’s basic parameters will return to normal. Remember, when thunder strikes, the most important thing is to pull yourself together. If the situation does not require immediate and urgent measures for survival and rescue, and when you are extremely confused and overwhelmed, then just start remembering the phone numbers and email addresses of all your friends (as one option).

You say nonsense? That's right, but when you realize that this is nonsense, it means that the reactions are slowly returning and you are already able to think. The overwhelming number of downed pilots died in natural conditions due to mistakes they made in the first hour after an emergency landing.

Be sure to watch your step. Whole legs are a guarantee of successful survival. Keep an eye on your surroundings. You can learn a lot of useful information from the tracks.

Living a year after a disaster is not an easy task. Considering our climate, it won’t be possible to sit in a tent on bags of food. Mother nature never spoiled the Slavs. Probably won't spoil him any further. A thorough, long-term camp will be needed. It’s easier and more reliable to have a house in the village (a dacha in the Canary Islands won’t work). Recently, thanks to “reforms,” a large number of abandoned farms have appeared. For three to five yards. Housing and land in them cost pennies.

Settlement

In the settlement, if you decide to live separately from society, you will have to restore a rigid patriarchal community. “Whoever harms his neighbor is an enemy of society!” And this will require breaking the habitual consciousness, with its laws and established rules.

The evacuation point must be agreed upon in advance. As a matter of fact, the shelter must be built in advance. It is necessary to decide on evacuation routes that bypass major railway stations and official collection points of refugee camps. Mark landmarks, perhaps paths along the railways, it will be a little easier.

Housing in our climate is definitely log houses. Two people with a chainsaw, with minimal skill, can lay the frame of a bathhouse in a day or two. In a larger group, a simple house with two rooms and a canopy can easily be made in a week. Here it is only necessary to establish the organization and distribution of labor. No matter how much they interfere, they help each other. A community of five families is able to build a farm with five yards and buildings in a month. If only everyone would help each other and not sweat alone. Material for construction - any wood, except birch. A birch frame will rot in two to three years. If possible, a pair of lower crowns should be made from larch. Larch is a very heavy material and therefore difficult to build from, but a house built from it will last for centuries if the foundation does not crumble. Dried pine is usually used for construction. Since there will be nowhere to get dried pine, you will have to put up with heavy logs and resin protruding from the walls. By the way, it can be collected. Boiled resin is rosin, the best additive for soldering.

You will have to use a stove to warm your home and cook food. Building a fireplace (efficiency 12…15%) is not difficult, but a competent stove (efficiency 20…35%) is a delicate job. Stove kits sold in hardware stores are very useful. It includes a cast iron stove, an ash pan and two doors. Remember that in front of the stove doors and in front of the fireplace there must be a stove made of fireproof material, steel, for example, at least fifty centimeters wide. Otherwise, the fire will become a matter not of chance, but of time. This is a standard requirement of fire inspectors, having suffered through hundreds and thousands of fires. The Russian stove is good, but does not hold heat for long. The so-called “Dutch”, which has a massive cast-iron plate. Cast iron is a very heat-intensive material; it takes a long time to heat up, but retains heat for a very long time. And at the same time it burns out very slowly

Additionally, to prevent rapid burning of a cast iron jacket, you can coat it with clay from the inside. You can also equip one of the corners of the stove with a water tank, which creates “steam heating” and a source of hot water at the same time. You just have to constantly monitor the water level and flow. The tank will need to be covered with a lid to prevent steam from entering the living quarters. At the same time, it is also necessary to remove the steam generated under the lid with a hose or pipe to the street. The house is not a bathhouse, adding more steam and living in constant dampness is not recommended.

The roof can be covered with roofing felt, slate (now this material is actually not used), roofing iron (corrugated sheeting), just boards, straw. The straw burns, it burns well. All Russian fairy tales show stoves with cast iron without a bottom, placed on a pipe. This is a flame arrester. So that sparks flying out of the chimney do not set the roof on fire. Experience gained over the years. Follow it, and then you will not have to suffer in a fire caused by your stupidity or ignorance.

Life in a community will revolve around a small number of people and events.

Hiking equipment

KNIFE. The presence of a knife in the wild makes life incredibly easier. Of course, you can make a stone one, or some other one from available materials, but if you are not a blacksmith or a mechanic, then the quality and ease of use of such a tool will be below the level of criticism. Large knife - cleaver.

AXE. You can use a tourist hatchet, a small hatchet.SAW. Regular, with one handle. The garden saw is a short, useless thing in the household and is only suitable for the garden. You can buy a tourist one. It is a flexible fabric (cable) with teeth. It can be carried in your pocket.FILE. Triangular file, for sharpening tools. Sharpening whetstone, for sharpening knives and axes.

BACKPACK. There are a great many backpacks now. They even appeared equipped with solar panels that recharge the batteries of mobile phones (sic!), iPods, radio stations, navigators and similar toys for tourists spoiled by life. Soon they will probably be equipped with built-in coffee makers and refrigerators. For the right price, of course. We need something simple, reliable and not expensive. The most comfortable ones are climbing ones. The most common are bicycles. The center of gravity of these is shifted slightly downward, and thanks to the wide belt, the bulk of the weight falls not on the shoulders, but on the belt. With this arrangement, the back gets tired much less. The belt must have a self-reset. This is a fastener that holds well and is very easy to unfasten, literally with a slight movement of your finger. Situations when the ability to free yourself from the shoulder load as quickly as possible saves your life are not so rare. Don’t get carried away with overly large “bananas” (tall, cylindrical backpacks). Most of the time they will be half empty, and dangling behind your shoulders will make it difficult to walk. Personally, I prefer a square one with a semi-rigid bottom. An easel backpack with a rigid frame should be chosen only for yourself. They set up well, modern, I mean, but it’s a rather tedious and time-consuming process. The backpack itself must have many pockets. The valve, the top cover, should also have a pocket. It is advisable that on the outside there would be several safety belts on which you can attach an ax, foam, a tent with pegs and poles, a shovel, a bottle of water, a radio station, well, the list can be continued almost endlessly. After you assemble your backpack, be sure to check that the load does not catch on the sacrum, a point below the lower back and above the buttocks. Bloody calluses rub there quickly and almost imperceptibly. Such calluses take a very long and painful time to heal. There are also old, shapeless backpacks of Soviet and other origins. They have two advantages - they take up little space during storage, and they are extremely cheap. There are no more advantages. In extreme cases, a bag with a shoulder strap or an army “sidor” will do. This is a bag with a long strap sewn to the bottom, in the middle of which the neck of the bag is tied. They showed a lot of these in war movies. A fully equipped backpack, without food and water, weighs about 5...7 kilograms. And also, be sure to carry a knife, a flask, a first aid kit, a compass and a map in your jacket or pants pockets. It is better to have a knife and a flask on your belt. It may happen that you will have to abandon your backpack when crossing, for example, and with such a minimum set the chance of survival is always more than zero. Never drop your weapon. Also a significant plus in the big game for life.

POLYURETHANE FOAM MAT, colloquially “foam”, is available in any travel equipment store. Necessarily. Will save your kidneys from colds when spending the night on bare ground. If you really want to, you can replace the foam with a bunch of spruce branches, just chop branches, but this is time-consuming, not aesthetically pleasing, and cold. Such a thing as... in our country, they call it “huba”, sometimes “podz@pnik”, what it’s called in the store, I don’t know. A piece of polyurethane foam the size of... well, the size of a fifth fulcrum, with a rubber ring attached. Worn over pants, it allows you to sit on stones and other cold objects without the risk of getting genitourinary colds. Sometimes it helps to fan the fire.

SLEEPING BAG. You can just use a thick woolen or synthetic (the material is called “holofiber” or something like that) blanket. True, blankets take up a lot of space. Sleeping bag, sleeping bag. Just not cotton wool. Cotton and cold, and heavy, and gets wet quickly, and takes a long time to dry. This is where modern synthetic materials come to the rescue. Such a sleeping bag will weigh 300...500 grams and take the volume of a half-liter bottle. When choosing a sleeping bag, you must adhere to the saying: “heat doesn’t break your bones”; the warmer the better. But they are not cheap... When buying two sleeping bags for two, it is better to choose an “envelope” rather than a “wallet”. And with the same lightning bolts. Then it will be possible to assemble two small ones into one large one by simply fastening the fasteners together. A little advice - when you settle in the parking lot, hang your sleeping bag out to dry, you will sleep much better and more pleasantly.

TENT. You can comfortably sleep two people in a single tent for the night (for a couple of nights you can accommodate four people ^_^). And there will still be room for a backpack. If you don’t have a tent, you can put a 250-liter pack of garbage plastic bags. They are strong enough to withstand one to five overnight stays in dry conditions. And it’s not a shame to throw them away later. Lightweight, they won't take up much space. Polyethylene raincoat. And just a big piece of polyethylene. It will be possible to wrap a backpack in it during a march, and arrange a canopy in the parking lot. The scenario is that there will be heavy rains. Or sew a cape or jacket from waterproof fabric, always with a hood, and a couple of large patch pockets. This will wear for a very long time and will add a little comfort to being in the field.

Towel. Several handkerchiefs. Several pairs of socks, both thick and thin. Foot wraps can be made from any sufficiently soft piece of material measuring 40*60 cm. Those who served in the army will understand. It is better to wear rough shoes with foot wraps over socks. Then the socks are much less torn. And it's warmer that way.

Fishing set - spoons, sinkers, fishing line, float, fishing hooks, net. You can buy a Chinese plastic network. It takes up very little space and weighs very little.

A pack of small bags. Advice from my travel experience - when it is very damp, so as not to get your feet wet, you can put bags over your socks, and your feet will remain dry until you stop. Never dry your shoes OVER a fire. It will burn out instantly. A small supply of freeze-dried products. They are very light (you don't have to carry water with you) and cook very quickly. Canned meat is also a very good thing, but it is heavy and inconvenient to carry. Just don't get too carried away. The stupidest situation is to carry unpeeled potatoes with you. Well, if you have a choice, of course. An average person can walk one hundred twenty to one hundred fifty kilometers on an empty stomach, and carrying heavy supplies is not so easy, especially in conditions of general devastation.

The pot and mugs are under no circumstances made of aluminum! Only from stainless steel! A coil of rope about thirty meters is not necessary, but it may come in handy. Flask. You can use military grade, aluminum, but it’s better also made of stainless steel, or at worst, plastic. But be sure to have a case for wearing on your belt. A flexible polyethylene canister, two to three liters. With some skill you can solder it yourself. The necessary ingredients are polyethylene, about 2 mm thick or higher, a neck from a PET bottle (PET is polyethylene fluorate, the basis for making plastic bottles for beer, soda, etc., etc.), a soldering iron with a power of 40 W, a strip of flexible and thin fluoroplastic (FUM tape). It doesn’t take up much space, and the 0.75 flask is a bit small. Water filter. A couple or three packs of dry fuel. That's enough for the first time, but then you'll get the hang of starting a fire with one match. By the way, it is very convenient for them to light wet firewood. Several gas lighters. Matches run out very quickly and easily become damp. Wrap lighters in a condom and tie tightly. A condom is not only a contraceptive thing, but a very multifaceted one. Examples of use are a tourniquet, a water canister (if you put it in a bag), edged weapons (pour a handful of sand, hit it on the crown, lethal), sealed containers. If you roll several pieces into a rope, you can make an elastic band for a slingshot. Not counting its intended use. Never use gasoline lighters!!! Gasoline will inevitably leak out, then absolutely everything will smell of it. Right down to the contents of cans.

A straight razor and the right belt. In principle, you can shave with an ax =). A small mirror, preferably metal, unbreakable. Scissors, needles, thimbles, threads, buttons, snaps, hooks, flaps. If possible, use small binoculars or a telescope.

Shortwave radio receiver. Modern receivers confidently receive the audio channel of the First Channel of Russian Television. By the way, the official one, through which government messages will be transmitted. Also the official “voice” is Radio Mayak. Only modern receivers do not catch it. By listening to these sources you can learn a lot of important things about the situation. It wouldn't hurt to have a lightweight, portable radio to communicate with your group and the people you plan to go out with. With wife, husband, children. I’ll talk about power supplies in the chapter “Power Supplies”. In a situation where you find yourself alone (in a group of three or four), and there is a whole aggressive world against you, connection will become a powerful psychological factor that will help you survive. A simple CB radio station can now be bought in stores selling equipment for security systems, tourism and hunting. And in children's too... You can make it yourself, but it's not for everybody. For those who want. Do a search on the Internet using the words “Kolibri radio station”, I highly recommend it. A simple radio station on two microcircuits.

WEAPON. It is important. In the conditions of chaos and complete anarchy of the first days, it will help to avoid critical situations and provide invaluable moral support. Those who served in the army will understand, those who did not serve, take my word for it. Important: weapons and children, two things are incompatible. Take precautions when handling any weapon. It is unlikely that you will be able to hide a rifle or machine gun in a cache. A hand-held short-barreled pistol, pistol or revolver would be more suitable. A revolver is better. It's much more reliable. Well, and cartridges, of course. Although an ordinary slingshot will do. With a supply of steel balls from the bearing or just 12 nuts. Only if the ball flies almost silently, then the nut hums in flight. Talk about weapons in the chapter “Weapons”.

FIRST KIT. Approximate contents: bandages (in sterile packaging, a lot), plaster, cotton wool, iodine, petroleum jelly, multivitamins, camphomene, furatsilin, diphenhydramine, aspirin, analgin, askofen, citramon, gramicidin paste, validol, nitroglycerin, Corvalol, Teymurov paste, nitrofungin, Vishnevsky ointment, furaplast, BF-6 glue, no-spa, novocaine, paracetamol, biseptol, trichopolum, phenolphthalein, potassium permanganate, baking soda, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, syringes, pipettes, thermometer, tweezers, syringes. Be sure to keep the first aid kit in a sealed box or bag.

A toothbrush, preferably more than one, with a spare, soap, tooth powder.

Be sure to cut out the staff. Firstly, it helps a lot when walking for a long time, and secondly, it’s nothing but a weapon. Fighting off dogs, for example. There are quite a few of them now, but there will be many more of them, and in the absence of food (garbage dumps), they will become very dangerous.
