To do this, you need to dig a trench 25 cm deep, cover the bottom with geotextiles, install a solid mesh of the desired height and fill the trench with gravel and sand. To prevent gabions from staggering, reinforcing bars are dug in every 50 cm. And the mesh sections are treated with an anti-corrosion compound.

You can buy them or make your own from hard wire. Ready gabions are closed cells, for which they got their name. Homemade flower beds can be left open by simply pouring stones “with a slide”.
