Introduction

Our time can rightly be characterized as the time of a massive advance of science on the numerous bastions of the unknown. Research that yesterday was called pseudoscientific, labeled "quackery" and contemptuously thrown into the wastebasket, is today universally recognized as ahead of its time. So it was with genetics, so it was with quantum mechanics, and in a similar way things are now with bioenergetics and all kinds of esoteric teachings. Alas, the real state of things "real scientists" tend to rather ignore. After all, there is nothing easier than to declare the incomprehensible non-existent. The information contained in this book is a combination of ancient knowledge and the latest scientific developments in the field of magic.

The various methods offered in this book will not only allow you to look inside yourself, find a connection between physical and spiritual matter, but also help you achieve harmony with the outside world. This book is intended for those who strive for self-improvement, and even skeptical minds will be able to find something useful in this work, to learn something new and valuable. The information used in writing the book will help readers to better understand themselves and the people around them.

The proposed book contains not only interesting and entertaining information, but also valuable recommendations and techniques that allow you to improve your physical and spiritual health, as well as learn much more about magic and witchcraft.

Even in ancient times, our ancestors, observing the world around us, began to notice that everything in it is interconnected, that not only animals, birds and plants, but also a variety of objects have an inexplicable vital energy, and this energy directly or indirectly affects people's lives . Even then, people made the first attempts to subjugate this vital force, to direct one or another of its properties to their own benefit. It turned out that by combining certain words and actions, one can somehow influence certain forces and elements. This is how magic was born. From many days of exhausting vigils of the druids, from them to the sophisticated spells of the Middle Ages, it has gradually come down to our days. The deep, primordial principles and laws of the interaction of forces and energies may have changed significantly, but they have not ceased to operate, have not disappeared without a trace. Therefore, even now, having the necessary knowledge, it is quite possible to influence the course of things with the help of magic, in particular conspiracies and spells.

This book not only covers the process of the origin and development of various magical rituals, but also examines in detail their features, taking into account the geographical factor. So, for example, it tells in sufficient detail about the magical tradition of Ancient Rus'.

People who were subject to a special kind of energy have always existed. They were often pursued, beheaded, burned, quartered, but they managed not only to survive, but also to increase their secret knowledge.

Of course, not every person is endowed with certain magical abilities, but almost everyone can make the simplest conspiracies after appropriate training. This book contains useful recommendations in the field of practical application of incantations and other methods of magical art in our days; in addition to rich theoretical material, it provides a lot of examples illustrating one or another magical action.

Conspiracy and spell: similarities and differences

Real, endowed from birth with the gift to feel and control cosmic energy, masters of white magic will never confuse the meanings of conspiracies and spells. Of course, both of them have much in common, to prove which it is worth referring at least to the history of their origin. A conspiracy, like a spell, is an ancient magical rite, which includes both ritual and verbal sides.

A strong emotional experience of a person, which has found expression in a stream of words, actions and images, makes one believe in their reality. Each time, a person is convinced that the desired was realized thanks to the mysterious power that was revealed to him. The belief that the power that enables the individual to control the rest, to influence others, to own what he wants, is growing. Accordingly, people are convinced that all conspiracies and spells originate from somewhere outside.

In other words, the magical effect of conspiracies and spells grows due to a certain human experience. From the history of mankind it is clear that the most ancient profession is magic. Many centuries ago, the magical actions of primitive man took the form of a rite, accompanied by a conspiracy or a spell, which became a tradition, developed and improved.

But before proceeding with a deep analysis of these concepts, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the contents of a special dictionary of magical terms.

So, in most of these dictionaries, the most typical definition for the term “conspiracy” is the following definition: “A conspiracy is a spell text used for magical purposes to resolve various difficult life situations, to protect against the negative effects of the outside world, to treat or induce damage, to normalize or disharmony of relations between people, for economic and commercial needs, etc.”

The texts of conspiracies are different in volume. They can include from several lines to several pages. For better preservation, conspiracies were transmitted in records, so in some cases they were used as a talisman-amulet in the written version.

For a more effective impact on the subconscious, the rhythmic-melodic side of the conspiracy is of no small importance; this factor also determines its specific poetic organization, namely, pronouncing it in a kind of recitative, usually barely audible, i.e. in a whisper.

A spell is a term that in some cases denotes both a conspiracy-spell act, that is, the action itself, and any other text (not just a conspiracy) characterized by a magical orientation.

From the foregoing, we can conclude that conspiracies and spells have several similarities. Firstly, conspiracies and spells contain a magical focus. In other words, both the first and the second have an indirect influence on man and nature through the influence through the unreal world. Secondly, incantations and spells are united by melody and a special specific pronunciation. The main strength and power of conspiracies and spells lies mainly in whispering. The impact through them pursues one common goal - to have a proper impact on the human psyche, to bring peace and tranquility to his soul.

Therefore, the meaning of the techniques of these sets of mystical words is based on suggestion. As mentioned earlier, all this is clearly manifested in a specific way of pronouncing conspiracies and spells - in whispering, monotonous, measured tone, frequent repetition and enumeration of incomprehensible, illegible words for the recipient. Thirdly, it is very important to understand that the conspiracies and spells of white magic specifically imply an appeal to the saints, to the great martyrs, as well as calls for help to guardian angels and, of course, an appeal to the Lord God himself. If a person calls for the assistance of any dark forces, then it is quite obvious that the place of the spell is occupied by a curse.

The environment itself contributes to the effective impact of conspiracies and spells on the human subconscious. In other words, the pronunciation of magic words excludes any external sound stimuli, healers and magicians are welcome to work in mysterious silence. In such a calm atmosphere, the recipient more sensitively takes into account the hypnotizing rhythm of incantations and incantations, which inspires, compels, enchants and envelops.

But it should be noted that it is the whispering of conspiracies and spells that provides not only the necessary impact on the human psyche, but also the opportunity to keep the secrets of each magic word from an uninitiated individual. Spells, like conspiracies, are necessarily accompanied by the movement of hands and lips, since these gestures, according to popular belief, mean "seal the castle."

It should be remembered that the more often a conspiracy or spell is pronounced aloud, the stronger its effect. But in turn, said in vain, in the hustle and bustle, without the proper attitude, they lose their power. That is why, and also due to a number of other reasons, the choice of a successor is carried out very carefully and only if it is absolutely necessary. In other words, healers do not transmit conspiracy or spell words to unfamiliar people.

There is another feature inherent in conspiracies and spells and unites them. Resorting to a conspiracy or a spell, a person always turns to the saints, sacred faces, that is, calls for the assistance of God, angels. In both the first and second cases, people can read the Bible, combine a conspiracy or spell with a prayer speech, use church candles, pronounce a magic word surrounded by icons. Before reading a conspiracy or spell, a person needs to visit a church and confess to the Lord God.

A very important condition for obtaining the desired results, both through a conspiracy and through a spell, is sincere faith in the life-giving power of the sacred word. At the same time, it should be noted that both the magician himself and the recipient must believe. So, if a person has a desire to simply try the power of a spell or conspiracy, that is, to experiment, then he urgently needs to drive such thoughts out of his head.

However, there are a number of specific differences between the concepts of "spell" and "conspiracy". So, the most important difference between these verbal attributes of magic is the following: conspiracies are an integral part of any complex ritual, that is, one or another magical process is necessarily accompanied by a conspiracy - a special set of magic words and appeals.

In a word, the conspiracy is intended for the whole ritual to come into necessary action, since a separately pronounced conspiracy is powerless. And vice versa. Suppose a healing ritual provides for accompaniment by a conspiracy, and if the latter is not uttered, then, accordingly, the process itself will no longer be effective. There are many examples.

A healer who has begun his work, seeking to save the patient from ailments, will not confine himself to whispering conspiracies, including appeals to saints. As a rule, at this moment the healer treats the patient under the sign of the cross, or sprinkles with holy water, or rubs a sore spot in a person with some drug. It must be emphasized that conspiracies for food or drink are especially popular with healers of ailments, since this technique is very effective. The healer himself prepares some food for the patient and at the same time reads the corresponding plot. All of these cases, whether it is washing with holy water or rubbing a bruised place, are a healing ritual, and the indispensable utterance of conspiracies acts as a kind of guarantor of achieving positive results.

As for spells, they are self-sufficient. In other words, in order to get the desired result, it is quite possible to get by with the utterance of the necessary spell without organizing a whole ritual. The situation will become clearer if you pay attention to such, for example, a spell from corruption:

“In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen. From the Prayer of the Mother of God, from the Jesus Cross, from the seal of Christ, from the saints of help, from my word, get away, unclean demon, damned spirit, to dry trees, to mosses and swamps, and there you have a place, life, stay and will, and there scream , and not in the servant of God (name), be self-willed. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself, the Mother of the Most Holy Theotokos herself, all heavenly power, Michael the Archangel, Avoid the Angel and all the holy miracle workers: Nifont and Maroth, Cyprian, Ustinia, Conon of Isauria, Dmitry of Rostov, Elijah the Prophet, David, John the Baptist and Blasius, Istopher and Nikita the Great Martyr, and my word is terrible, and the conspiracy is strong; I forbid you, damned demon, unclean spirit, don’t live anywhere and don’t be in the servant of God (name), get out, now and this minute with all the corruption and spells, get away from the servant of God (name) away and go to your place where the Lord God, Jesus Christ, sent you and where he ordered you to live, into the abyss of hell, into the empty unmade land, go there, live there, and leave this servant of God (name) forever, from now on and forever. Amen".

As you can see, this is a spell, a set of certain necessary words and appeals that have an internal rhythm and a peculiar linguistic coloring and do not require any actions to accompany it. And now, in contrast, we give a conspiracy from the same ailment:

“Be known, servant of God (name), with the life-giving cross - on the right hand and on the left, in front and behind. The cross is on me, the servant of God (name), the cross is in front of me, the cross is behind me, the cross of the devil and all enemies are defeated. May the demons and all the power of the enemy flee from me, the servant of God (name), who saw how lightning is the scorching power of the cross. Near me is Christ and all the power of heaven: angels, principalities, authorities, thrones. The Lord's strength and indestructibly terrible seraphim, and holy guardian angels, devoted to me to keep my soul and body from holy baptism. And far away from me, with his dark-like strength, he stands, and with all the people he was driven out, the angels became God's angels by a third and sixty. Prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, Lord Jesus, the Son of God, have mercy on me, Your sinful servant (name), now and forever, and forever and ever, amen.

This plot is an obligatory part of the ritual, which is performed as follows: it is read three times on wax, which is attached to the cross of the enemy. Here it is necessary to pay attention to another important difference between a conspiracy and a spell. Conspiracies are passed down from generation to generation, are strictly preserved, carry the experience and traditions of many millennia.

As for spells, the most significant should be emphasized here. If conspiracies for the desired effect must necessarily be pronounced through the lips endowed with secret powers, then the spell does not require a direct connection with the "specialist".

If a conspiracy gained strength over thousands of years, that is, it was formed as a result of accumulated knowledge and experience, the situation with spells is different. Naturally, the roots of spells come from ancient times, however, absolutely any text that has a magical orientation and, most importantly, is reinforced by the faith of the person who pronounces it, can act as a spell.

A person, for example, discovering that his good friend has sent damage to him, expresses some kind of dissatisfaction in anger. These words, spoken from the depths of the heart and with sincere indignation, can easily acquire all the magical direction inherent in conspiracies. In this case, the desire of a person to take revenge does not matter, regardless of whether he wants to punish his enemy or not.

And although spells are invented by a simple person, they do not lose either their value or their effectiveness, since the main condition for obtaining the expected result is to believe in the power of the word, when pronouncing which it is necessary to strictly observe rhythm and a certain pace. An example can be given:

A spell for longing for the dead

“Do not languish, do not let your heart, do not grab, maet, fear, heavy sighs, empty commotion. Do not tear your zealous heart in two. Everything is empty, go away, sadness, into the unsteady distance. Don't split, don't prick, don't tear your heart, let it go. Everything is empty. To the wind, to the forest, to the dry grass, to the stove chimney, as the smoke disperses in the wind, melts, so let the heart of the maet leave. Amen".

Conspiracy from longing for the dead

It is necessary to sit on a chair or stool on which the coffin of the deceased stood, whisper into the water, drink it and wash it in the morning and evening. The ritual is repeated three days in a row:

“Water is clean, wash it off, rinse from the yearning soul of the slave (name), from the sick heart, from weeping eyes, from heavy thoughts. Cover the fog of oblivion from morning to noon, from noon to midnight, for the whole day of the Lord, ease the suffering of the soul of the slave (name). Amen".

Returning from the cemetery, you need to stand in front of the stove and look into the blower. At the same time, say to yourself: “Do not grieve, do not grieve.”

All these listed actions, words are the main components of the ritual: to speak a conspiracy without the necessary corresponding actions or to follow all the instructions, but silently, simply means to waste energy and not get the desired result. While the spell described above from the same trouble does not require the mandatory performance of any actions.

Accordingly, the question arises - why not use only spells for more successful, more effective work on achieving the desired? It would seem, why waste precious time on performing a ritual rite, when you can achieve the expected with some spells? It is difficult to find a satisfactory answer to this question.

As mentioned earlier, faith is the main condition for achieving the desired goals. Therefore, it is quite logical to assume here that for a long time white magicians, healers and healers, inspiring the recipient with all the sacred power of conspiracies, created an appropriate mysterious and bewitching atmosphere. In other words, all the ritual paraphernalia that accompanies conspiracies helped a person to feel the presence of a powerful and mysterious force with the help of the appropriate atmosphere.

The fact that some people use conspiracies and spells for other purposes, or rather unconsciously, confuse their true powers and magical attributes with each other, is a common mistake. It is for this reason that a person does not get the expected result and is disappointed in the power of the word of God. Therefore, beginners in white magic need to understand the meaning of magical terms and use them purposefully.

Prayer and spell: interaction and interpenetration

For many centuries, man has been attracted and interested in everything inaccessible and mysterious. The world of unbridled elements has always been the subject of close attention for him. The powerful force of nature inspired respect and great fear, which made her worship. Hence the origin of various legends and myths about the existence of powerful otherworldly forces that are able to control not only natural phenomena, but also the fate of man.

And in order to appease God, people began to make sacrifices and arrange great holidays in his honor, worship all kinds of statuettes and figurines that personify this powerful person, turn to him with various requests, and utter laudatory words addressed to him.

But not everyone had the right to communicate with the Deity; only the most influential and respected people of the tribe were awarded this honor. They were considered close to the gods. With them, the Almighty conducted his conversation, which was understandable to no one, and only to the priests revealed his will, commanding them through it.

Faith in God was accompanied by all sorts of conspiracies, spells, divination, amulets and talismans. There is a version that it was from these conspiracy-incantation formulas that prayers arose in which people, constantly mentioning the name of the Father and the Holy Spirit, asked for forgiveness, help and fulfillment of cherished desires. All this led to the emergence and consolidation of certain rites and rituals.

At midnight, the leader of the tribe kindled fires. People came with gifts and sat around the fire. During this action, the healer necessarily painted his face or put on a mask so that evil spirits could not seduce him from the true, pure path. Everyone present had their own talisman with them. In these moments, God sent blessings to people in all endeavors, success and good luck. The fire and firewood helped to cleanse and destroy the surrounding area from unclean spirits.

People believed that sadness and longing came from the devil, and in order to get rid of them, it is necessary to resort to the help of God, driving out all black thoughts with prayer. After all, prayer is a kind of purification and admiration. In ancient times, there was a belief in the healing power of prayer and spells, and people sincerely hoped for healing from all diseases and ailments. Not a single spell of white magic could do without turning to the Almighty and the Son of God.

Spells were often slandered on any objects, and they then necessarily fell into the hands of the person to whom it was directed, or into the food that they ate. The spell was recited several times.

A person must constantly strive for a bright spiritual world and not be tempted by the world of demons and Satan. Here, for example, is the prayer "Alive in help." When reading it, they overshadowed themselves with a cross. This is one of the most famous prayers among the people. With her words on their lips, Christian warriors defeated their enemies. This is a kind of prayer-spell from fear, the invasion of the enemy and death:

“He who lives in the help of the Most High, dwells in the blood of the God of heaven, says to the Lord: Thou art my intercessor and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. Yako He will deliver you from the snares of the net and from the word of the rebellious: with His splashing He will overshadow thee, and under His wings you hope: His truth will be your weapon. Do not be afraid of the fear of the night, from the arrow flying in the days, from the transient thing in the darkness, from the seer and the midday demon. A thousand will fall from your country, and the darkness at your right hand will not come near you. Both look at Your eyes and see the retribution of sinners. As You, O Lord, are my hope: Thou art Thy refuge on the Highest.

Evil will not come to you, and the wound will not approach your body: like an angel to your commandment about you, keep you in all your ways. They will take you in their hands, but once you stumble your foot on a stone: step on the asp and the basilisk, and I will cover it, and, as if I knew My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him; I am with him in affliction, I will destroy him: I will fulfill him with long life, and show him my salvation.”

This prayer is interpreted as follows: the Almighty will help to avoid the catcher praying from the net, from the fatal ulcer. Under His wings is safety to be found, and the shield and shield are His truth. The one who reads the prayer will not be touched by arrows flying either day or night. Thousands of enemies will fall near him, and no one will dare to hurt, since such words are spoken: "The Lord is my hope." No evil will approach the house, and the angel will keep the believer and the one who asks in all his ways and roads.

After reading this prayer, you can proceed to the spell itself. For example, here are a few words that will help remove damage:

“The Mother of God was walking across the bridge, and Nikolai Ugodnik, Elijah the Prophet and John the Theologian were meeting her.

Where are you going, Mother of God?

- I'm going to wash my nerves, wash my eyes and expel bitterness from the servant of God (name), from his head, from his hands, from his legs, from his heart, from his kidneys, from his bladder, from his red blood.

Come out, unclean spirit, from the servant of God (name), from the head, from the heart, from the legs and arms, from the stomach, from the liver, from the stomach, from the whole body. Go, pain, walk through the forests and valleys, through the fields and ridges. Come, pain, where the foot of man, the paw of the beast, has not set foot. Where the wind does not howl, the sun does not warm, the grass does not grow. Go to the abyss. Amen. Amen. Amen.

I'm not flying, I'm not talking, but the Mother of God. She heals, she speaks, she washes. He calls the Lord God for help with angels, with archangels, with all heavenly powers, with the first star and the evening dawn.

The archangel came from heaven, carrying a cross on his head. I put this cross on a stone bridge, locked it with thirty-three locks, thirty-three keys. And he gave these keys to the Blessed Mother of God in his right hand, so that no one would open the locks, no one would spoil the servant of God (name) either in housing, or at a feast, or on the way. Damn Satan, get away from the servant of God (name) a thousand roads, a thousand fields, a thousand forests, a thousand seas. Where people don't go and cattle don't go. And here the holy path is in a holy place and is fenced by the Holy Spirit.

Lord, save and save the servant of God (name). Amen. Amen. Amen".

The spell is recited three times. At the end, they throw a pinch of salt into the water, three matches and spit three times over the left shoulder. Then they drink this water in small sips, sprinkle all the rooms, the courtyard, be sure to bed and wash.

There are a few more spells that, like the previous one, are read after the “Alive in Help” prayer:

“God bless. An angel-archangel walked from the throne to the royal gates, there is a table on the steep mountain, and Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary rises on the throne and holds a sword and a saber over the sick and grieving (names). Kills with a sword, cuts with a saber. Kills with a sword, cuts with a saber. Put, Lord, the heart in its place, strengthen, lock the gate more firmly, hide the keys in the water so that no one will find, no one will guess. Amen. Amen. Amen".

“Choochuy, chuchuy, chuchuy, guguy, guguy, guguy, come out of the servant of God (name), from the inside, from the stomach, from the shoulders, from the eyes, from the eyelids. You won’t come out good, you’ll go bad: Saint Yuri will come, overtake him with a scourge, Saint Yegoriy will come - he will stab you with a spear. And St. Michael will cut with a cut, burn it with fire, scatter your ashes all over the wide world.

“Mother Blessed Virgin Mary, seven-shot, shoot with your seven arrows and cut with your damask knives in the servant of God (name) all pains, all sorrows, kakidki, homydki, lalitki, weakness, headache, insomnia, all pains, all sorrows, sadness, longing unbelievable peace, Mother of the Most Holy Theotokos, with all the saints, forever and ever. Amen. Amen. Amen".

Sometimes the process of casting spells was very painful: a person defeated by an illness had an unbearable headache, his heart and soul groaned. But gradually all the pains disappeared, and the person came to a complete recovery. It was said that the demons had left him alone, as the patient had overcome them in a terrible struggle.

However, there is an assumption that prayer did not interact with spells in any way, that they arose and developed in parallel, apart from each other.

The ancients believed in the amazing power and purity of prayer and did not want to mix it with "dirty intentions and black thoughts." The fact is that sorcerers had a whole arsenal of both positive and negative spells.

Being in communion with God, a person, as it were, departs from all earthly problems, and he is visited by heavenly pleasure and bliss. After all, prayer has the property of restoring disturbed spiritual harmony. It helps people find peace and balance. As Mark 11:24 says, “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you will receive it; and it will be for you."

So people have long resorted to prayers in difficult times. First of all, they turned to God, the Mother of God, Jesus Christ, asked to save and have mercy on their sinful souls, to save them from disgrace and vices.

For example, here are a few prayers that a person turned to when talking with God.

Prayer from a prayer service for the healing of those possessed by unclean spirits

“Lord Jesus Christ, our God, who bound the strong man and plundered all his things, gave us the power to step on snakes and scorpions and all the power of the enemy, handed over to us the man-killing Serpent bound, like a sparrow to children. You, Whom everything fears and trembles in the face of Your power, overthrowing Satan like lightning from heaven to earth, overthrowing not from one place to another, but from honor to dishonor for his voluntary malice; You, whose gaze dries up the abyss, whose anger melts the mountains, and the truth endures forever.

You who are praised by infants and blessed by infants, whom angels praise and worship. You who look at the earth and make it tremble, touch the mountains, and they smoke, rebuke the sea and dry it up and even the rivers, You who waste everything, to whom even the clouds are the dust of His feet; You, who walk on the sea as on dry land, the Only Begotten God, the Son of the Great Father, forbid the evil spirits yourself and deliver the work of Your hands from the action of a hostile spirit, for glory, honor and worship to You and through You to Your Father in the Holy Spirit, forever and ever . Amen".

Prayer for the appeasement of the warring

“Lord Lover of mankind, the King of the ages and the Giver of good things, who destroyed the enmity of the mediastinum and gave peace to the human race, grant peace to your servants now: root your fear in them and affirm love for each other, quench all strife, remove all disagreements, temptations. For you are our peace, and we send glory to you, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen".

Believers read such prayers several times a day. For each holiday there were different appeals and appeals to God. People believed that prayers help them in difficult everyday life, and did not see the meaning of their lives without them. They preceded any new business with a prayer, as if asking permission and blessings from the Lord God. And when they completed the work they had begun, people also turned to God with words of gratitude and a request for mercy for their mistakes.

Man never forgot to praise God. The phrase "Glory to You, Lord, Glory to You, Almighty!" usually completed all kinds of appeals to the Lord, requests and prayers. But along with prayers, spells also developed in parallel. There were, for example, such verbal constructions that often said, anticipating some important business or work with them:

“I don’t walk, I don’t hurry silently on a black cat, on a black dog, on a red rooster. There was no refusal to me, well done (name) or girl (name): not on Monday, not on Tuesday, not on Wednesday, not on Thursday, not on Friday and not on Saturday, and even more so on Sunday.

Take the hell out of me. So that no one knows a word against me, no evil, no. They wouldn't use their tongues against me, they would respect me and love me. Cross with a cross, business with a good end. Sun, sun, help! Sun, sun, shine! And you, moon, shine in the night, show me the way!

And here is another very powerful spell. It was uttered in moments when the heart and soul did not know peace. They conjured water, which was collected from three streams. They poured it with a ladle, first crossing themselves three times. They scooped up water downstream, counting the buckets like this: not once, not two, not three ... not seven ... (in total, it was necessary to collect 21 buckets). Then they stood at the crossroads of three roads, saying the following words:

“I, young, will stand on a silken broom with a white body, white chest, black eyebrows, clear eyes, a zealous heart, strong prowess. I’ll ask a gray hare, a clubfoot bear: “Would you come running to me, gray hare, clubfoot bear, would you remove melancholy-grief, black sadness from me - and you would carry it into an open field, and let it go through a violent wind, they would have carried it to different cities and villages, and forests, and mountains.

However, over time, spells underwent significant changes, the main of which was the introduction of prayer into their composition. People began to turn not only to heavenly bodies and natural forces, but also to the Lord God, since they believed that it was he who controlled them and only they obeyed his authority. Gradually, prayer became an integral part of spells and acquired the character of initial formulations, such as: “I will become a servant of God ...”, or “Blessed be that day ...”, or “Lord, have mercy and forgive me ...”.

The magic of names in astrology
Since ancient times, there have been systems linking the symbols of the alphabet and numbers with astrological symbols. In this regard, the astrological idea is reflected that not only natural phenomena and manifestations of the human psyche, but also names bear a certain cosmic imprint and are under the influence of certain cosmic forces.

This, to a certain extent, speaks of the connection between name and fate. This work uses the approach...

As a result of a fairly detailed acquaintance with the existing literature, as well as with a few scientific studies of the phenomena of witchcraft, magic, magic and the like, I came to some conclusions, which I formulated in the form of the following provisions:

1. All manifestations of the unusual and supernormal forces of man, both internal and external, should be divided into two main categories: magic and mysticism. The definition of these terms presents great difficulties: first, because in the general and special literature they are often used in a completely erroneous sense; secondly, because in mysticism and in magic, taken separately, there is a lot of unexplained; thirdly, because the relationship between mysticism and magic also remains unexplored.

2. Having found out the difficulties with an exact definition, I decided to accept an approximate one. Magic I have called all cases of enhanced action and concrete knowledge by means different from the usual:

I have subdivided magic into objective magic, i.e. having real results, and subjective, i.e. with imaginary results. Mysticism I called all cases of heightened feeling and abstract knowledge.

So, objective magic is enhanced action and concrete knowledge. "Enhanced action" means, in this case, the real possibility of influencing objects, events and people without the help of conventional means, action at a distance, through walls, action in time, i.e. in the past or future. Further, here we have in mind the possibility of influencing the "astral" world, if it exists, i.e. on the souls of the dead, on "elementals", good and evil forces unknown to us. Concrete cognition includes clairvoyance in time and space, "telepathy", mind reading, tensometry, the ability to see "spirits", "thought forms", "auras" and the like, again if all this exists.

Subjective magic is all cases of imaginary action and knowledge. These include artificially induced hallucinations, dreams taken for reality, reading one's own thoughts taken for someone else's messages, semi-intentional creation of astral visions, the Akashic record, and similar miracles.

Mysticism is by its nature subjective, therefore I did not single out objective mysticism as a special group of phenomena. Nevertheless, I have found it possible sometimes to call "subjective mysticism" pseudomysticism, or false mystical states not connected with heightened feelings, but approaching hysteria and pseudomagic; in other words, they are religious visions or hallucinations in specific forms, i.e. all that in Orthodox literature is called "charm".

3. The existence of objective magic cannot be considered established. Scientific thought denied it for a long time, recognizing subjective magic only as a special kind of hypnosis or self-hypnosis. Recently, however, in scientific and scientific literature, for example, in works on the study of "spiritualism", there are some assumptions about the possibility of its existence. But these assumptions are as unreliable as the previous denials. "Theosophical" and "occult" thought recognizes the possibility of objective magic, but in some cases it clearly confuses it with mysticism, and in others it opposes this phenomenon to mysticism as useless and immoral, or at least dangerous, both for the practitioner of "magic" and and for other people and even for all mankind. All this is presented in an affirmative form, although there is no satisfactory evidence for the real existence and possibility of objective magic.

4. Of all the unusual states of consciousness peculiar to man, only mystical states of consciousness and certain phenomena of subjective magic can be considered fully established, the latter being almost all reduced to the artificial induction of desired visions.

5. All established facts relating to unusual states of consciousness and unusual powers of man, both in the field of magic, even if subjective, and in the field of mysticism, are associated with extremely peculiar states of emotional tension and are never observed without them.

6. A significant part of the religious practice of all religions, as well as various rituals, ceremonies, and the like, have as their goal just the creation of such emotional states; according to the original understanding, they are credited with "magical" or "mystical" powers.

7. In many cases where the intentional induction of mystical states or the production of magical phenomena takes place, the use of narcotic drugs can be found. All religions of ancient origin, even in their modern form, retain the use of incense, fragrances and ointments, which were originally used, perhaps in conjunction with substances that affect the emotional and intellectual functions of a person. It can be traced that such substances were widely used in the ancient mysteries.

Many authors have established the role of the sacred drinks that were received by candidates for initiation, for example, during the Eleusinian mysteries; they probably had a very real, and not at all symbolic meaning. The legendary sacred drink "soma", which plays a very important role in Indian mythology and in the description of various mystical ceremonies, may indeed have existed as a drink that brings people to a certain state. In the descriptions of witchcraft and magic among all peoples and at all times, the use of drugs is certainly mentioned. The ointments of witches, which served for flying to the sabbath, various types of magical and magical drinks were prepared either from plants with exciting, intoxicating and narcotic properties, or from organic extracts of the same nature, or from plant and animal substances, which were attributed to the same properties. It is known that for such purposes, as in cases of witchcraft, bleached (belladonna), dope, poppy extract (opium) and especially Indian hemp (hashish) were used. The use of these substances can be traced and verified, so that there is no doubt about their significance. African sorcerers, interesting information about which can be found in the reports of modern researchers, widely use hashish; Siberian shamans use poisonous fly agaric mushrooms to bring themselves into a special excited state, in which they can predict the future (real or imaginary) and influence others.

In W. James' book, The Varieties of Religious Experience, one finds interesting observations concerning the significance of mystical states of consciousness and the role that drugs can play in inducing such states.

Various yoga exercises: breathing exercises, unusual postures, movements, "sacred dances" and the like, pursue the same goal, i.e. creation of mystical states of consciousness. But these methods are still little known.

Having considered the points of view of the various methods given above, I came to the conclusion that a new experimental verification of the possible results of the application of these methods is necessary, and I decided to start a series of such experiments.

The following is a description of the results that I have achieved by applying some techniques to myself. I found the details of these techniques partly in the literature on the subject, and partly derived from all that has been said above.

I do not describe directly these techniques that I used, firstly, because it is not the methods that matter, but the results; and, secondly, the description of the methods will divert attention from the facts I intend to consider. I hope, however, someday to return to them specifically.
